Grades 3 to 12. Reading and writing runs to grade 8, mathematics goes through pre-calculus, and study skills and test prep is for grades 8 and up.

Six students, never seven. Most groups settle at four or five, and one-to-one is there for a student a group is the wrong shape for.

Seventy-five minutes, once a week to start. A student who is a year or more behind usually moves to two sessions a week, which is what the Accelerate plan is.

We agree at the start of the term what progress should look like, write a review in week six and another at the end. You hear from us during the term, not only at the end of it.

Not as the main work. A group that turns into a homework club stops closing the gap that brought the student here, though we will always look at something that is due tomorrow.

Tell us at the assessment; it is the most useful thing you can tell us. Usually it is a child who has been told for years that they are bad at something, and it changes inside a term - or it is a sign we are working on the wrong thing.
